Wright stated that the 'whole originally composed and written ' by Fox has been 'Revised, Corrected and Improved with many Necessary Additional Articles, Relating to the Acts and Monuments of the Church'. He saw 'The Whole Forming at once A General Christian Martyology, and a Complete History of Persecutions'.

Per Etsc T138689, the copy collates with 951 pages and the index and list of subscribers present. Some margin staining to some illustrations, the occasional spotting or foxing, browning to pages, which are still quite crisp and clean. A scarce work in very good condition.
