Facsimile of the1792 new edition, chiefly translated from 'L'Ami Des Enfans' by Berquin, and decorated by Thomas Bewick. The introduction is by Charles Welsh, who has inscribed this copy recto free front end paper as a presentation copy to C. Kegan Paul of publishing house fame. There are later owners inscriptions on the half title. Half calf with much rubbed marbled boards, there is a repaired vertical split to the spine, scattered foxing throughout
