The Last Puritan
Book Description
The Last Puritan, George Santayana, Constable, 1935, First Reprint
The second biggest selling novel in America in 1936 surpassed only by Gone With The Wind. The UK edition is the true first published by Constable in 1935, this copy being a second print also in 1935. Copies in the original Constable dust jackets are very scarce.
The binding is tight and straight, the boards clean with a small amount of fading to the top of the spine. The endpapers and pages and clean without tears, marks or inscriptions. Some foxing to the top edge, minimal to the fore.
The dust jacket, protected in a clear removable cover, slightly over clipped, is bright with some losses to either side and top of the spine, to the rear at the base and to front return.
A very good copy of a scarce volume.
