Dealer Notes
= Rare first English language edition of this anti-Jewish brochure, supposedly distributed by the London anti-Jewish or antisemitic society "The Britons". Originally published in German in 1921 under the title "Totengräber Russlands. Contains 32 caricature drawings by the notorious anti-Semite and anti-communist Otto von Kursell (1884-1967), all portraits of Russian Jews accompanied with verses by Dietrich Eckart (1868-1923), who was one of the founders of the German Workers' Party, precursor of the Nazi party and who was a mentor for Adolf Hitler, who characterized him as "a guiding light of the early National Socialist movement."
The pamphlet contributed significantly to the spread of the conspiracy theory of "Jewish Bolshevism". Kursell's full-page caricatures, complete with captions, depict 30 mostly high-ranking Soviet officials, depicted with distinctly "Jewish" facial features in the racially ideological sense of the time (pouffy lips, frizzy hair, watery eyes). Among those vilified are Lenin, Alexander Parvus, Adolf Joffe, Tobias Axelrod, and Emma Goldmann. Introduction by Rosenberg entitled "The Jewish Bolshewism".
Very brittle publication, well preserved with only a nminor marginal tear in backwrapper.
