A complete volume of twelve issues of The Gentleman's Magazine for 1776 pages 361- 362 of the August issue records "Declaration by the Representatives of the United States of America in General Congress assembled July 4." Includes the 9 maps four of which showing American maps relating to the recent military actions, also a plan of Cambridge and five plates as list, single stamp to blank verso of the maps and plates, of City of Oxford Public Library, with their bookplate to the front paste down. Bound in later plain brown cloth. There are also some other articles of interest on America, such as: Account of the Proceedings of the American Colonists, since the passing of the Boston Port-Bill. The 250-year anniversary of the declaration of independence is celebrated this July.
