Hardback. 253pp. A study of northern England including the counties of Yorkshire, Northumberland, Westmorland, Cumberland, county Durham. 17 colour plates and further black and white drawings and photographs throughout. J. S. Fletcher was a journalist and a prolific crime fiction writer. Cloth binding is slightly rubbed and rather dull and has a few faint marks. Foxed to replies. Something - possibly a greeting card - has been held between the half-title and the preceding page and this has left a heavily aged tone shadow and some faint traces of silver foil. Previous owner’s name in beautiful script dated 1918 and previous owner’s blind stamp ownership details.
