An exceedingly rare quarto bible, with extensive notes by T.Parker of Shincliffe. The second volume only which contains the Old Testament from Psalms onwards, then continues with the New Testament. The New Testament is also dated 1781, has a separate title page and register and ends with one leaf `A Table` of writings made use of, and has a colophon dated 1783. Title page to volume a little chipped without loss, browning throughout, otherwise text in good condition. contemporary calf, hinges broken, spine deficient. Very rare indeed. ESTC indicating copies only in Harvard in the US and in York and London in the UK. An important piece of printing, with extremely detailed notes.
