4 volumes. 4to. engraved title-page to each volume and 240 fine steel engraved plates from drawings by the author a handsome set, finely bound by Seton of Edinburgh in full red morocco, lettered and decorated in gilt There is some abrasion damage to volumes 1 and 2 (see images). internally the end-papers are a bit foxed and soiled and there is a little marginal soiling, but generally all clean, though a bit musty. private book-plate to front paste-downs and oval institution stamp to preliminary page of each volume. small catalogue number to verso of title-pages. glue repair to upper hinge of volume one
