Map endpapers illustrated by Steven Spurrier together with map of Wild Cat Island and 28 full page black and white illustrations by Clifford Webb as called for. Signed and inscribed by the author on the half title page. There is fading to the boards with and toning to the spine with a 1 cm chip to the upper joint at the head of the spine. There is a little splitting to the cloth at the other joint tips to a maximum of 1.2cm and a couple of small holes in the cloth on the bottom edge and upper joint. Internally, the endpapers are slightly cracked, although the binding remains very firm and square, and there is spotting to the free endpapers but otherwise the book is pretty clean with only the occasional light mark.
