First edition. Coloured illustrations by A.F. and C. Lydon. Richard Bowdler Sharpe (1847-1909) was a British ornithologist and museum curator, author of some of 19th century's finest books on birds, such as 'Monograph of the Kingfishers' (1868-1871).
