The "explicit eroticism" of Gill's illustrations "shocked many of his former supporters and drew puzzled reproaches from the Dominicans" (ODNB). Gill 277; Franklin, pp. 329-30; Ransom, p. 296. Exceptionally clean and fresh boards and internally. Rare, near fine copy. Direct orders welcome.
