Celebrating 50 years of book fairs

Book Description

Jennifer Murray circumnavigated the globe aboard a Robinson R44 helicopter the distance of 36,000 miles in 97 days in 2000, earning her the current Guinness World Record for the first helicopter circumnavigation by a woman & this book documents that journey. Author inscription on title page reads: "To Charles who has given me so much advice and encouragement on all things Antarctic for my coming venture. With very best wishes, Jennifer - 17th September, 2003". The Charles referred to was the British glaciologist & polar specialist Charles Swithinbank who had worked in both polar regions & the 'coming venture' was Jennifer Murray's Pole to Pole flight in December, 2003 which is described in her later book "Broken Journey".
