Religious Instruction depicts a seated woman sitting at a table reading a book with a magnifying glass, as the boy also reads from a smaller book, and a little girl kneels against a stool with a piece of cake in her hand looking at the dog. Moral Instruction depicts a seated father receiving a floralspray from his wife, with a young girl examining a botanical book rested on his knee, and with a basket of flowers in the foreground. Further books are on shelves on the rear wall.
