First edition. Bound from the parts. Collated complete and correct. Pp xiv, 625. Engraved title page, frontis and plates by Browne present as listed (including the so-called dark plates). Contemporary half morocco gilt with raised bands, on green cloth boards, pale yellow endpapers, all edges gilt. An exceptionally fresh, attractive example with very little foxing to plates, very clean text, and bright binding with no rubbing. Textual points: Rigaud instead of Blandois to Chapter SV (indicating the earlier issue). Other indications of early textual state: Fidgetty to page 265, Diceing to page 360, signature is B2 on page 371 (see Smith Vol 1 91-95). Most unusual in this condition.
