First edition. Two parts in one. 8vo. pp. iv, 182, iv, 203, lxiv; 10 eng. plates (two bound out of sequence); a little foxing to a few plates, previous owner’s bookplate to front pastedown, very good in contemporary half roan, gilt, a little sunned on spine and with a minor mark to lettering.

Freeman 1694. This first volume of the Linnean Society’s proceedings contains Darwin’s paper ‘On the Action of Sea-water on the Germination of Seeds’ (Botany, pp. 130-40).
