First Edition. 8vo. pp vii, [i], 288. Contemporary half calf on marbled boards, edges speckled, purple stamp to title page From the Library of the Rev. W. Griffith, Holyhead, 1881. A clean, neat example. A note by Griffith to the front paste-down indicates that the author followed him at Trinity, and then died the year that this work came out. From the library of William Saint Clair, with his signature to top of pastedown of William St Claire. William Saint Clair (1937-2021) was a leading supporter of modern Greece, and the author of That Greece Might Still Be Free, amongst many other books. A nice association copy twice over.
