Book Description

First edition. 8vo. Vol 1: [iv] 298 (2) (ads); Vol 2: [iv] 285 (3) [blank, followed by one page ad, verso blank). Vol 3: [iv], 284. Original bright blue cloth, original endpapers present, label seemingly removed from spine volume 1. Vol 1 and 2 rubbed to joints, volume 3 marked to head of spine, foxing to title pages and final leaves, where they have been affected by the endpapers otherwise nice clean examples internally. Small blind stamp of W H Smith Library, the strand, to front endpaper, but no markings otherwise. Annie Thomas was an interesting writer, who contributed also to All The Year Round. Her work is rather rare on the market. Though not perfect, this is a good example of one of her early novels, in its original cloth binding, with the ads present.
