Dealer Notes
= From the Divan of Petra Vogt by Ira Cohen, published by the underground Cold Turkey Press in Rotterdam in 1976, is a limited-edition artist’s book blending poetry and photography created during Cohen’s time in Kathmandu in the early 1970s. It pairs his spare, evocative poems-most written 1973-74-with photographs of Petra Vogt, the German artist and performer who was his partner and muse, making the work both literary and visual in character. The edition of 250 copies showcases Cohen’s experimental, intimate approach to text and image, reflecting his broader oeuvre of Beat-inflected, mystical, and cross-disciplinary creativity. Fine copy.
