Contains news on a great range of subjects, including listsm of visitors to Rome, archaeological finds, advertisements, news of the Vatican and so on. Extremely rare, we have located copies in the BL only. Gives a marvellous impression of the interests, amusements and lives of the English travellers at that time. Edited and marketed by Russell Forbes, he takes the opportunity to advertise his extensive publications and lectures on Rome within it, changing the name to Forbes' Rome Directory and Bulletin for 1888 (i.e. from the opening of the season on December 1st 1888) and then to the Rome Directory and then to the Rome Directory and Bulletin for 1889 season, and then to the Roman News and Directory for the 1890 season
