Drawn and described from examples in public & private collections in Australasia by James Edge-Partington. Third series. "Lithographed by Palmer, Howe & Co., Manchester". printed to recto only, illustrated with line drawings; some foxing to the pictorial label on the box, internally very clean and bright; contained in the original blue cloth-bound portfolio box slightly rubbed, complete with brass clasp with some corrosion, a very good copy.

The third of the three landmark ethnographical albums produced by the British ethnologist and tribal art collector James Edge-Partington from 1890 to 1898, this album illustrated with art and artefacts from Tahiti, Hawaiian Islands, Marquesas, Fijian Islands, Solomon Islands, New Britain, New Ireland, Admiralty Islands, Micronesia, New Hebrides, New Caledonia, New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. The objects were drawn by him from examples in major public and private collections in Australia and New Zealand. Objects from Edge-Partington's personal collection can be found in the British Museum and the major Australian and New Zealand museums.
