Five eighteenth century playbills, as follows i) Theatre-Royal Liverpool, Thursday September 13th 1798 comic opera Love in a Village…and a new dramatic Romance Blue Beard….ii) The sixth night of this COMEDY and the last but Four of Mr Incledon and Miss Leak s performing this season… A Cure for Heart Ache. August 18th 1797, Jessy Oatland Miss MELLON. iii) August 11 1794 will be presented a comedy Know your own Mind, between the acts of the Comedy Mr Incledon by particular desire will sing Black Ey d Susan, after which Cymon. (inaccurate strike, leading to loss of letters to right-hand side) iv) The first night of the New Comedy and of Mrs Leak s performing at the Theatre Royal Liverpool, July 28th 1797 v) The first night of the New Opera Abroad and at Home, with Mr Incledon. End of the Opera Mr Incledon will sing George Alexander Steven s celebrated Description of a Storm. Last item rather foxed, third item mounted without loss. Overall in good/very good condition. Incledon (1763-1826) was one of the most renowned singers of his generation, these rather rare playbills three of which feature Incledon come from when he was at the height of his popularity, moving up to Liverpool during breaks during the London season.
