THE THOMASON TRACTS (2). Catalogue of the Pamphlets, Books, Newspapers, and Manuscripts Relating to the Civil War, the Commonwealth, and Restoration, Collected by George Thomason 1640-1661. I-II. London, printed by order of the Trustees, 1908.
First printed edition. The collection was brought together by bookseller George Thomason (died in 1666) and is estimated to represent some 80% percent of everything printed in England during that period. Many of the ephemeral items are only known by Thomason´s copies, and since he used to annotate with publication dates, authorships of anonymous works etc., it makes the collection (now in the British Museum) and the catalogue extremely important and valuable.
