Hardback. 220pp. A signed first edition of historian Philip Mason’s best known work crime fiction, set in India. Signed by Mason using both his own name and Philip Woodruff. Also laid in is a postcard printed with his address and noting he was enclosing a signed book, this signed with his initials. Philip Mason was a colonial officer in the British Raj and wrote a two volume history The Men Who Ruled India and a study of Rudyard Kipling. Slightly bumped to points. Some spotting and grease marks to dust jacket which has slightly gone through onto the cloths. dust jacket is dust marked to edges and is slightly worn with nicks and chips including to the spine ends where the tail has 1cm of loss.
