Book Description
An excellent copy of the First edition in restored dustwrapper, by the twelve-year old author Joan Cope whose memoirs and pictures of her childhood home these are. She vividly describes her life at Bramshill, the Grade I listed Jacobean mansion in Hampshire, first purchased by British banker Sir John Cope in 1699 and the descendants of the family held the premises until 1935. The book concerns the last few years of that occupation and is illustrated with line drawings endpapers and colour plates all the work of the author plus two additional original photographs of the house mounted to the half title and Contents page.
