Complete. 8vo. (8.3 x 5.3 inches). Both volumes with the half titles. Volume One: xiii, 498pp. -- Volume Two: viii, 489pp + 58pp of appendix and index. Armorial bookplates to both front pastedown endpapers. Neat previous female owner's name (Lizzie Leonard, 1873) written in ink on one of the front blank free end papers of volume one. A little light foxing to a few leaves but this is a very clean and bright set in contemporary full tan calf bindings. Spines with red and black labels, lettered ruled and decorated in gilt. Spines ruled and decorated in gilt. Expertly re-backed and with the original spines laid down. Board edges rubbed and a mark along the outer edge of the rear board of volume two. Overall a very good copy of this uncommon early edition.
