Book Description

Nisbet divides the duration of the world from the Creation to the appearance of Jesus Christ into six ages and a period he calculated of some four thousand years. During his analysis of the development of scripture, Nisbet asserts that the 'oral tradition' was an open goal to use to add to the scripture as delivered by Moses in the written word. He cites the Pharisees, the Saducees and the Essenes of having added 'oral culture' to the teaching of Moses. Fair condition, drab boards scuffed and marked, corners bumped, wear to spine edges, loss to lower spine, bookplate including coronet, text block quite firm, rough cut edges.
