An album of approximately 50 photographs of mainly horse-drawn steam engines made by William Rose of the Metropolitan Works, Manchester. Half-leather, covers very worn and front cover detached.
William Rose was a maker of fire fighting equipment including ladders, hose and various horse-drawn fire engines. They only built steam fire engines for a short period in the late 1890s. This album illustrates some of them for customers.
