Book Description

An Album of 27 Japanese colour woodblock prints. Each print (over a double page) measures 25cm high by 36.4cm wide. From a set of 54 prints relating to the parody novel ‘Nise Murasakiinaka Genji’ [‘Fake Murasaki and a Rustic Genji’] by Tanehiko (1828-42) and its sequel ‘Sono Yukari Hina no Omokage’ [‘A Related Rustic Visage’] (1847-64). The covers are scuffed and marked. Internally prints are fine; clean with bright, vibrant colours. A wonderful collection of prints rarely seen in this condition.
