First edition. 8vo. pp. [vii], 134; sixteen mounted full-page real photograph illustrations; some age-toning to photos., a little occasional browning or dust-soiling, previous owner’s bookplate to front pastedown, else good in original cloth, gilt, a little darkened on spine, minor soiling. A presentation copy, inscribed to half-title “To dear Mollie from one of the Argonauts”.
Dealer Notes
Schiötz 54***; Bibliotheca Norvegica II 6916. The author, a surgeon, travelled with a party of fifteen on this yacht voyage that took them to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Norway (Bergen and the neighbouring fjord regions). The account is illustrated by real photographs taken by another member of the crew, Doctor Richard Caton.
