Book Description

Original Photograph Album 21 x 16cm. Full, 22 pages with images, 62 images ranging from 12 x 8.5cm to 6.5 x 4cm. Circa 1916 There are 12 images of women drivers with their vehicles and more of the vehicle on the road, including snow & crossing a ford. Two images of Selfridge Horses & two superb military vehicle photos. There is a great photograph the woman changing a tyre. Other photographs of men in military uniform and what looks like a social club with tennis etc. A superb little album showing Selfridges delivery life during WWI
Dealer Notes
During World War One many men employed at Selfridges went to war.
Their positions were filled by women, some of whom took on the more strenuous jobs like driving delivery vans, loading and unloading them.
