Original half sheep, worn. Ex-library with bookplate to pastedown and stamps to free end paper. All a little spotted. Separately published, but to accompany Siborne’s History of the war in France and Belgium, in 1815 : containing minute details of the battles of Quatre-Bras, Ligny, Wavre... 1844. Siborne was commissioned by Roland Hill, Commander of the British Army, to construct a model of the Battle of Waterloo and using the extensive research produced this series of maps of which 9 are printed using Bates Patent Analglyptograph, a system of shading which when viewed at an angle give the impression of seeing the topological relief.
