All four volumes illustrated throughout in black & white with the much loved E. H. Shepard drawings. Cloth covers with gilt lettering to the spine, gilt ruling and design to upper board and top edge gilt. A smart collection of early copies, overall in very good condition as seen below. *Winnie-the-Pooh: Third Edition, 1927. Overall clean with light marks and dents to boards & spine, light bumping to corners and rubbing to corners and tips of the spine. A few marks, generally light, throughout the book and repaired tear to pages 31/32 but overall in good+ condition. xi, 158pp. *The House at Pooh Corner: Third Edition, 1929. Fading, rubbing and light marks to boards and spine as seen in photos. Browning to endpapers with overall clean & crisp pages and sporadic light marks to top of a couple of pages and repaired tear to pages 55/56. xi, 178pp. *When We Were Very Young: Fifteenth Edition, 1927. A lovely copy, clean and fresh, inside and out. Minor rubbing to corners and tips of the spine and a touch of fading to bottom of the spine. Offsetting to first and last page, otherwise clean and crisp pages. x, 99pp. *Now We Are Six: Second Edition, 1927. Slight rubbing and light marks to boards, fading to the spine, bumping and rubbing to corners and tips of the spine. Light foxing to endapers, offsetting to first and last pages and overall clean and fresh pages with light marks and small nicks to a few sporadic pages throughout the book. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. x, 103pp. 'Winnie-the-Pooh may be a bear of very little brain and Milne's classic children's stories - featuring Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin and, of course, Pooh himself - are both heart-warming and funny, teaching lessons of friendship and reflecting the power of a child's imagination like no other story before or since.
