Book Description

This is a 1st softback copy of “War Pen Pictures” by W. Sorley Brown and published by John McQueen & Son, Galashiels in 1917. William Sorley Brown was a Second Lieutenant, 4th Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers and the book was published to raise funds for the Galashiels Soldiers Comforts Committee. The book has 48 pages and covers his time in Gallipoli and the Middle East during the First World War. There is a previous owners name address and date of April 1917 on the title page and there is some foxing to the front two pages but I have found no other marks or inscriptions. This appears to be a rare survivor.
