Regretfully, due to Covid-19, we have decided to cancel our fairs up until the end of December.  However, at this stage, we cannot confirm if our London Christmas Fair will take place but we will keep you updated.
Book Description
1st printing in publisher's original grey cloth with titles to front board and spine in dark blue. Still quite fresh with light fading at spine. The binding remains sound, tight and square. Internally clean and fresh with author's signed, dated and located presentation inscription to ffep thus ' For Katie [some doubt about name] every good wish & much luck Jean Rhys London 1976' in her familiar and unsteady later hand.Signed editions of the author's early works are very scarce partly because by the time she became well known towards the end of here life and her signature was more sought after many copies had already been lost. Further early titles by this author are uncommon in any sort of original jacket - this unclipped example has benefitted from some limited but very high quality professional restoration, mainly at head of spine and to rear panel, carried out by a leading paper conservator. A lovely copy of this Modernist novel by a writer increasingly recognised as one of the greats writing in English in the twentieth century.
