Book Description
Single sheet, 47.5 x 33cm, tipped onto stiff card, copperplate script with vignette of a mans face at centre, title “Penmanship” within a swan outline at head and quill at foot.
A nice survival of this example of Regency penmanship with an eight line poem beginning : “in ancient times when drawing first began, a lump of chalk might rudely sketch a swan, but now that art to more perfection brought....” A good copy (small dents & chips; occ.soiling & marking).
