Book Description
Ronald Searle typed letter signed with his full name on his own headed notepaper dated 18th July 1950. To Mr. [Jon] Wynne Tyson [publisher of the Centaur Press] 'Thank you very much for offering me the chance of illustrating your collection of verses. I enjoyed reading them very much, but I am afraid I can't take the work on. By agreement, I can only do book illustration on commission from publisher through Pearn, Pollinger and Higham, my literary agents, which even then means that I am committed for twelve months ahead! It was very kind of you to send the verses, anyway, and I am sorry I can't be of more help'.... Good condition, minor creasing, a number [telephone, I imagine] added in pencil at foot.
