Book Description
1st Edition, 1st Impression. 12.5x19cm original dark blue boards with gilt titles to the spine, 320pp. The original dust jacket is unclipped, showing 15s. net at the corner of the front flap and the code APT/H50 on the rear flap. The boards are in near fine condition, with only tiny bruises to both top fore edge corners and a small ding to the spine head near the upper joint, though no shelf wear. The binding is very firm and perfectly square, the spine ends are firm with no pushing. The edges of the text block are entirely free of the usual spotting that this book is prone to, save for one very faint one on the fore edge. Internally, other than a 2cm toned band to the endpapers through acid migration, the pages are beautifully clean and fresh. There is no bookplate, name or inscription. The dust jacket is in near fine condition, having very slight surface erosion at the corner tips and a tiny 2mm closed tear at the bottom edge of the rear panel. Although the rear panel has a little faint surface soiling in places on the rear panel, it is unusually bright over all and free from any of the usual spotting. The lettering on the jacket is very fresh and bright, particularly the white elements which often become darkened or spotted. In all, a superb copy.
