Railway Machinery: A Treatise on the Mechanical Engineering of Railways: Embracing The Principles and Construction of Rolling and Fixed Plant

Book Description
This is a beautiful two volume set of this highly sort after title. Quarter leather binding having evidently been recently rebound (tan leather corners and spine with brown cloth.) Two inscriptions: one on title page of volume 1 neatly in top RH corner; the other a 1992 gift inscription on front end paper. Foxing to prelims and a little throughout. Small Institute of Transport Library Stamp at foot of Vol. 1 title page dated 1854. No further evidence of library markings in either volume. Volume two is more heavily foxed on some plates throughout probably due to the paper stock. Despite these few flaws these are a wonderful collectable set of this rare masterpiece.
