4to. 3 Volumes: xviii, 364; vii, 397; vii, 430 pp. A limited edition of 1500 numbered sets of which this is No. 448. Sympathetically rebound with new marbled boards and gold lettering to spines. Printed on handmade paper at the Chiswick Press under the supervision of Francis Meynell. With frontispiece portrait in photogravure and illustrated throughout with 58 fine full-page plates in collotype after Blake s own renderings. Meynell was later to write in THE NONESUCH CENTURY (1936): “I believe this to rank with the Shakespeare as the most useful and most generally credible of Nonesuch publications.” Blake remains an iconic figure in the history of British art and literature.
