The tickler, or, Monthly compendium of good things…a compilation from the most esteemed authors of former times, with…works of the present day…forming an elegant repository for the flowers of ancient and modern literature.
Vols 1 – 5, comprising 61 monthly issues (vol. 1 had thirteen numbers). Imprint varies. Virtually a complete run – the magazine ceased after the June issue of 1824. Vol. 1 bound in plain boards with calf spine; vols 2-4 bound in floral paper covered board, and bearing the inscription ‘Job Lousley’s book / Blewberry Berks; vol. 5 unbound. Vols 1-4 with the collective title-page and vol. 1 with the introductory preface.
A rare compilation of this witty, humorous, and sill entertaining magazine.
Condition Some wear to bindings but contents clean and in very good condition. Some issues have an incorrect printed issue number but this is a printing error and all issues called for are present.
