Book Description

The Syria Great Eastern Railway to India by an Entirely New Route by George Elphinstone Dalrymple, published by Skeffington, London 1876. In card covers size 20 by 13 cm. 26 pages. Dalrymple seems to have researched Syria and Arabia extensively (almost all of the text is devoted to possible routes through these) and looked at ports on the Persian Gulf that could provide the last link to Bombay by sea, though all of his sources are secondary, writers, travellers, maps etc. With a small stamp of the Garrison Library Malta to the title and last pages (not affecting the text). The card covers are completely plain and would seem to indicate very limited publication and circulation. VG condition.
