Book Description

Inscribed by Battersby on the front endpaper. To Maud Dunn from her / kinsman, the author / Xmas, 1900. Poet and lyricist, Battersby is now probably best remembered for his popular 1896 ‘hit’, ‘Who’ll buy my lavender’. Laid in is a folded four page manuscript letter from Battersby to, ‘My dear Maud’, and a faded small sepia photograph of someone, presumably Battersby, playing cricket. A very good copy.
