the 'Second-Seconds' in France: The Story of the 2/2nd City of London Field Ambulance

Book Description
This is a very good 1st H/Bk edition of “The ‘Second-Seconds’ in France: The Story of the 2/2nd City of London Field Ambulance” published by Spottiswoode, Ballantyne & Co. Ltd. London in 1920. The book has 109 pages of text and 2 black and white photos of Colonel E. C. Montgomery Smith D.S.O. and Lieut.-Col. H. G. L. Haynes. There is no dust wrapper. Also included is a memorandum from the publishers saying that this copy is sent at the request of Lt. Col. Haynes and goes on to say that further copies can be had for 5/6d including postage. The book is bound in brown cloth with the titles on the cover and spine in gold. There are no marks or inscriptions in the book and the pages are clean but the edges are spotted. The binding is tight but the 2 photos have become detached. A very nice copy of a scarce book. If you have any questions about the book or its content please email me.
