Book Description

The First UK printing published by George Allen & Unwin, London in 1925. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Light pushing to the spine ends. Some offsetting to the blank end-papers. Mild toning to the text-block and page edges due to the quality of the paper stock used. Internally clean. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good + condition. Light edge-wear with a small closed tear to the upper front spine fold. A few small nicks and a little creasing at the edges in places. The spine is very toned and the titling is illegible. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been inscribed and signed by the author in the year of publication on the front blank end-paper : 'A.C. Stoughton, from his friend, Ed: Carpenter, 19 March '25'. I presume this may have been the date of publication of this title or certainly very near to this date. Two complementary studies of Shelley, both focusing on his psychosexual nature. A scarce title to find with such attributes.
