An attractive small water colour, signed to bottom left, 'S.B. 1818' with contemporary ink title beneath '1821. The Port of Chester at High Water, drawn by S.Brown'. Laid down on dark grey paper which, in turn, is laid down on what is probably an old album leaf. The detail of the buildings along the wharf has been compared with other contemporary artworks of the period which confirm the accuracy of detail here. An attractive small painting.
