Book Description

11 volumes, set. Firsts thus. First published between 1864 and 1880. Original brown buckram, gilt. Issued in powder blue slipcases in two volumes, except for The Duke’s Children. With illustrations by Lynton Lamb, T.L.B. Huskinson, Blair Hughes-Stanton, Hector Whistler and Charles Mozley. Generally with light foxing to fore edges, end papers and d/ws. D/ws a bit rubbed and worn. Volume 2 of The Eustace Diamonds is missing a portion at the head of the spine and has a tear along the top edge of the back panel. Volume 1 of Phineas Redux has a closed tear at the top edge of the front panel and is crumpled at the head of the spine. The Duke’s Children has short closed tears and crumpling to the head of the spine (with a small patch of fading to the buckram) and some ink marks to the back panel. The slipcases are sound and firm. Near fine in very good + dust-wrappers.
