FIRST EDITION. 8vo, pp. 274 + Angrave’s 8 colour plates. Black boards, gilt lettering. Spine faded, wear to extremities, fraying to head of spine, corners bumped. POI to front pastedown, some foxing. Else, internally clean and tidy. A good copy of Keir Cross’s collection of 18 horror stories, with Agrave’s fabulous surreal plates still pleasingly bright.

John Keir Cross also published under Stephen MacFarlane and predominantly wrote for a younger audience. A number of stories from this collection were later included in the 1957 anthology Best Horror Stories.
