Spine – good condition – red leather spine, morocco leather a little creased but still bright and attractive.
Joints – good condition – gently rubbed.
Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn.
Boards – good condition – quarter cloth and leather binding with a blind stamped line separating the two.
Page edges – good condition – gilt to the top edge, slightly darkened, untrimmed to the other edges, tanned and foxed.

Hinges – good condition – sound.
Paste downs – good condition – plain, tanned.
End papers – good condition – tanned with some foxing.
Title – good condition – red and black text, some foxing and tanning.
Pages – good condition – the illustrations are collated and complete, pages with some tanning and foxing.
