The sought-after Thornton Edition, edited by Temple Scott, complete in 12 volumes.
Uniformly bound in quarter red leather binding, bound in the same style as the original cloth binding, spines lettered in gilt with gilt art nouveau floral devices, some wrinkling to the leather; top edges gilt, others untrimmed, foxed and tanned; half-title and title pages printed in red and black.

Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn.
Boards – good condition – quarter cloth and leather binding with a blind stamped line separating the two.
Page edges – good condition – gilt to the top edge, slightly darkened, untrimmed to the other edges, tanned and foxed.

End papers – good condition – tanned with some foxing.
