Book Description

Near fine half leather binding with marbled boards. Internally fine with photographic frontispiece and 27 photographic plates. The name Whipplesnaith was in fact Noël Howard Symington of King's College. His collaborator and photographer was Eric Waddams, who features in several of the images.
Dealer Notes
Top-notch treatment of the short-lived phenomenon of youth climbing drainpipes, towers, spires and chimneys on the campus of Cambridge University. The photographs document absurd spire-bagging, with students proudly standing atop the most pointed architectural pinnacles. The narrative delves occasionally into mock-heroic prose, underscoring the absurdity of the trend.
