3 volumes of The Isis, the Oxford University students' magazine, for the academic years 1946/47, 1847/48, 1948/49 (issues 1038 to 1109) bound (without covers) in 3 volumes with silk effect blue/green boards and blind stamped gilt titles to spines. In very good condition, with browning to the page edges, the spines a touch faded and minor marks to the boards, more so to 1947/48, which has some splitting to the lower left edge of the spine.
Dealer Notes
The Isis was established in 1892 and continues to this day. Contributors noted include journalist and broadcaster Ludovic Kennedy, film maker Lindsay Anderson, gay rights campaigner Peter Wildeblood and theatre critic and writer Kenneth Tynan. The 'Isis Idol' in issue 1059 was Anthony Wedgewood Benn who was then President of the Union.
